Anyone have Geico Insurance?

I'm just wondering, I recently got quotes from a couple different companies, and Geico was the lowest with the same coverage. Anyone have any claims files with them? Accidents, Stolen Vehicles? Etc.... How was your experience with them? Just wondering how good of a company they are when it comes down to it... Thanks for the feedback!

My Grom got lifted a few weeks back.

Going through the claims process now. So far my experience has been neutral.

They made me notarize a form and fax it... hopefully this is the last of the pain and they give me a fair payout.

Have had them for years, I had a recent event (I got rear-ended) and found them particularly useless. Did not renew - went elsewhere.

Really? I've had a claim recently when my wife got rear-ended (damn, that doesn't sound right! :rofl) and the person at Geico reached out to the guy at fault, convinced him to pay out of pocket instead of going thru his insurance, and forwarded the payment to me. It was a painless process and the only thing we had to do was visit the adjuster once.

They settled my claim fine, totaled my car and I was at fault, but they still gave me a very competitive value for my car without much hassle. Of course that was 14 yrs ago, lol, but I still use them.

I've had only stellar experiences with them for getting quotes and changing terms of my policies, claims involving my car (ambulance hit me), the total loss of a previous SO's bike (single vehicle accident) a few years ago, roadside assistance for my bike and my own accident in May of this year. They turned around paperwork very quickly each time -- in the last instance they completed all the paperwork and had me on a new bike in under two weeks. YMMV.

min coverage with them. never expect them to pay out for anything, they are more a scam, but low cost so can be legal to ride the streets.

i get hurt i have medical through work. so covered.
i crash, its on me anyhow.
i get hit, lawyer up time no mater who i have been paying extortion to.

so low bidder get the money.

packnrat is right, insurance is just a contract, and the contracts are basically all the same. Just buy whatever is cheapest. Even the scummiest insurer will still pay out if you threaten litigation/complaint to regulators. Even the best insurer will balk or lowball if the claim is expensive.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I went ahead and went with Geico, they gave me the best rates around.

I don't know much about insurance, so I went with the following, since it sounds good lol.

2008 Ford F250 Superduty Crew Cab (6.4 Powerstroke)

Bodily Injury: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per occurrence
Property Damage Liability: $100,000 per occurrence
Comprehensive: $500 deductible
Collision: $500 deductible
Uninsured Motorist/Underinsured Motorist: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per occurrence
No Emergency Roadside Assistance (Since I have AAA)

I went with them for everything. 2 claims with 2 totals, 0 at fault. They took care of business pretty well and paid me between 7 to 30 days.

I've had them for over 20 years. They've been great with claims. The only negative is that lately, when I add a car, they try to sneak in a bunch of nonsense (towing, extended warranty, etc.) and the way they've been doing it is pretty underhanded. One time they added stuff I didn't request and I blew a gasket. I think they made a note in my file, because they seemed to have stopped trying to sell me crap the last couple times I made changes.

Increase your uninsured/underinsured to the max. Doesn't cost much and California is an overlap state, meaning much/all of that $100k coverage could be meaningless. You want at least $300k of underinsured/uninsured.
