They say they need to keep your info in a database because of state law.

They are lying to you.

They know I enter a dispensary. Since the one I frequent is cash only, they do not know what or how much is purchased.

do they ask for your ID? The ones around the Central Valley do, and they photocopy it for their database.

I've heard dispensaries in the Davis/Sac area do the same. Is the worry federal law issues, or just general privacy concerns?

I declined a job offer from Walmart because of they drug test. I'm told they're actually repealing the rule for that department now.

I wouldn't want to work for an org that considers MJ a hard drug.

Is it the gov't keeping the info, or is it the gov't "requiring" dispensaries to keep the info? If it's like medical, the info is kept local to the business only, though they usually provide third party verification.

Well, likely just smoked! Duh.

Weed only made me paranoid one time. I partook in the natural medicine before a music festival, during said festival lost my friends, got paranoid that I lost them and was alone, called an uber back to the hotel about 5 hours before the concert was over. First time it ever happened. I was disappointed cuz normally if I venture off from my friends I have the best time with strangers.

Luckily it was a two day festival and when offered the next night, I was like get that wacky tabacky away from me. I ain't going home early this time.

As they bag up your purchase, I receive a REAL heartfelt "enjoy" as I turn to leave.:party
Way different as I pick up my order at a fast food emporium:thumbdown

The ID thing seems to be more of a carryover from the medical side as patent records, way more involved than the rec side.
This was in Oregon & Washington when I asked about it couple years ago.

So, I kind of expected it to be more of a thing in SF, but honestly, it seems like nothing has changed. Everyone is going to the same dispensaries that they always have. I was kind of expecting some hip Amsterdam style hash bars to open up, but have seen nothing of the sort. In essence the SF situation this seems to be nothing more than a Tax Code shift. Like, everyone was getting all they wanted through the dispensaries anyway.

I just think it's bullshit that they collect the data when they don't need too, and are not truthful about the reason. Will they sell the list to others? Who can buy it? That's a problem.
