Logitech ice in San Jose.
10th St. across from Spartan Stadium. It's an incredible facility: 4 rinks and a shitload of leagues but very little drop in. League play is cool but you don't get to play that much when you suck like me.
There used to be a mellow game in Belmont but that was a while ago. I hear Oakland has some free ice but too far to drive.
SF? Redwood City? Anyone? Bueller?

Edit: JoneZ check out www.hockeymonkey.com for great deals on gear if you know your size(s).
Edit v2.0: Psychochik roller hockey is a good intro to ice hockey. You'll find the weight of the puck is heavier and you can stop on a dime in any direction on skates. Give it a go!!!
sawwweeeettt, 4 rinks? I heard they had some good players in SJ for the traveling team, I am most def going to check it out
Roller is very easy to step into, I have played roller pretty much all my life, cheaper as roller seasons are like 200 vs 400 but ice you can hit it and it gets more serious.
owensdad, dude play D and learn to skate, then learn to hit, then learn to dribble and you are team player. Putting your weight around is an art, I use to weight 160 and drop 180-200 pndrs just by learning to hit. Not all the time but I would fair to say do well :toothless Now I'm 208 and I am sure a beast. but hockey is mostly just a game of heart, that is what I love.
take a golf ball and stick handle it around the garage, a week of it and you will control a puck better
