for money of course! :thumbup

Ant Anstead has ended a big part of his professional life. The 41-year-old British TV host announced on Instagram on Monday that he'll no longer be hosting the car show, Wheelers Dealers.

"My time on Wheeler Dealers has come to an end as the show heads back to the UK," the now California-based dad wrote.

"I proudly hand the spanner’s over to the legend that is @f1elvis and I remain home in California to embark on THREE new TV shows (watch this space for the top secret news coming soon)."

I was wondering how long he was going to put up with the BS from his co-host.

He got divorced from that horrid woman he married recently in LA.

Even had a kid with her but I guess he came to his senses all around! :laughing

I wouldn't bother watching it without Ant.

He was personable, knowledgeable and very committed to what he did.

The new guy is a well known UK personality who was an F1 mechanic for McLaren for 10 years.

I actually like Mike Brewer and his smarminess juxtaposed with the practicality of Edd China and then Ant Antstead and now this F1 guy.

Never liked "personality moments" injected into car hobby shows. Richard Rawlings, Mark Worman, Mike Brewer, Kev Dog are all like a pal's marginal friends that are always around when you go to visit.

At least Overhaulin's feckless babes were easy on the eyes.

Gotta' be the show producers not being gear heads causing such clumsy presentations. Here's hoping they never discover YouTube channels to wreck.

I was disappointed when Ed left the show. Didn’t think the show would ever work without him anymore. Watched an episode with Ant and liked it more. Ant’s ability to explain things and demonstrate procedures was way better than Ed, IMO. So, so long Ed. And now, so long Ant. Hello F1 dude. Mike Brewer... smarmy sales guys... like him a lot too. Shows me all kinds of restoration I didn’t know was possible. One of my favorite shows. I’ll keep watching. :teeth

I also loved loved Edd but was surprised when Ant was as good in his own way.

And learned something new on BARF.

I'll never think of a hallway the same way again. :laughing

Yeah, I really liked Edd. The big galoot. His feet firmly rooted to the earth while Mike ran about with both his hair and ass afire. Ant was an okay replacement. Sure wish Mike and Edd could have patched things up. The show has taken on more of Mike's personality the last few seasons. I wish it would get back to its roots a bit and have more mechanical advice and less salesmanship...but that's just me.
