Quite the commotion before the toll plazas on the BB. Rode by it on the way in this morning, black sport bike was being hoisted up, rider was being loaded into an ambulance.

Stay safe out there folks.

Hope the rider is (relatively) OK.

Well which is it? Red or Black Sedan?

(I know, we can see the red sedan in the picture)

I saw this on the news as I was putting my gear on. Looked like a lot emergency response. Did not look good from the view point of my Sony.
Hoping all goes well.

That's just a complication of conflicting reports from
911 callers.

Reading the CHP logs is sometimes very entertaining.

Hope the rider is okay and heals up soon, if injured.

Stay safe out there, commuters.

I drove by this morning and saw a black top case on the side of the road (next to the K rail on the left carpool lane).
Hopefully if the crasher lost it, he will get it back.

That's not the typical arrangement of characters on a bike plate so I suspect something is wrong there. It's been 12A3456 for a long time.
As kawikz posted, it's a VC section that allows towing of a vehicle when the owner isn't capable of authorizing it.

I'm sure you're right. I never look at my plate except when it comes time for a new sticker. Don't even wash it.

But I wonder if they are splitting.
I really don't like seeing splitters run all the way up to the Tolls, but I don't commute in the commute direction so I don't know how bad it is.

I got a good look at the bike this morning while it was hanging from the tow truck. Considerable front-end damage - the entire fairing was gone and the headlight assembly was totally smashed. I couldn't tell if the forks were damaged, but it made me cringe to see the front all smashed-in like that. :(

Hoping the rider has minimal injuries/problems.

gone for now
The area that seems the most dangerous to me is the merging after the metering lights. It's entirely possible that someone jumped across a solid line into the lane he was in.

Hope he isn't too hurt and recovers quickly.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing

From my experience, the great combination of riders splitting way too fast and last second lane changing without looking behind them. Always amazed at how so many commuting riders are numb to the risks they take.

that's not a plate number...

I didn't think it looked like a plate so I googled it before I got down to kawikz's post.
