$20 increase. Last increase was 2014. Stock jumps. I wonder how many were let in on the price increase so they could bump their shares?

Not surprising, and I'll sgladly pay the $20 increase. A huge majority of my day to day shopping, probably 80-90% besides groceries, is from Amazon. That two day is awesome, the amount of stuff I've 2-days far outweighs $120...

Also, convenience factor is through the roof.

The increase for new members is May, and the increase for current members is June 2. So if you're current and renew in May, you'll get the year for $99. My renewal date is May27......................:party I save $20!!!! meh......

I've read stories where they are surveying current members and it's around 45% that are going to cancel. Most being in rural areas where 2 day delivery is a pipe dream and Cletus steals packages off the porch when there's no banjo playing going on. who knows, and who cares..........The Tick is on Prime and I must watch. Spoooooooooon!!!!

Pretty much fuck Amazon.

Amen. Bezos to me is a modern day Umbrella Corp. Amazon is the kind of company that would do every/anything for cash & market domination, the outcome of the human race be damned. I do not trust them at all.

Amazon is very convenient, sure, but probably harmful to the environment. All those cardboard boxes to enclose some silly little item you purchased, lol. Plus, groceries? You could have picked up tons of them in one trip, but now you force a driver to come give you 2-3 items each day, lol. First world problems :twofinger

Amazon patrons are supporting an internet WalMart with more potential to destroy small business than perhaps any entity in history. Not to mention their abuse of the tax code and reliance on goivt assistance for their employees. This is a parasitic company.

Stop. Buying. Amazon.

You're not wrong.

I wonder what kind of price increase it would take for Amazon to pay a living wage, and whether they'd remain competitive. Last I read they had double the head count of JC Penney with ten times the sales volume.

Amazon didn't create online shopping and it would be thriving without them. Retail may be the primary source of revenue, but AWS is where Amazon makes most of it's money.

the management here is hell bent on moving off prem to AWS.

they will realize the error of their thinking some day. I smell law suits coming.

I think it's going to be the opposite. People will look back and wonder why companies used to cover the enormous fixed costs for maintaining their own IT resources.

Not a good point in time to be starting an IT service career

Didn't AWS go down on Netflix once,,.. semi on purpose or something?
and then service to the Customer's Customers Was cut off?

It was either Netflix of some other big name.
And then suddenly , the power.

I bet Jeff is responsible for the increase in gas prices too!

And the homeless problem in SF. I hear that's caused by tech companies, so Amazon must be responsible for it's relative percentage of total market cap of the tech industry. How dare they create an incredibly efficient company, employ thousands and thousands of people, and make life way easier for millions. For shame.

I loved their move this week stopping construction on their new building in Seattle and deciding to sublease all the space they recently leased in another building, all in response to Seattle wanting to add yet another tax on Amazon to pay for their problems. Don't want us here? Fine, we'll put those employees in Boston or Austin or Denver.

Or Vancouver. They had a meeting this week just across the border to discuss expansion of operations there and something like an additional 1000 jobs.

I've been amused by that too.... perhaps someone could go to a Seattle City Council meeting and read the two parables of; " don't kill the golden goose" and "don't put all your eggs in one basket" :laughing
