Alarm System Installer

Hey guys,

I had bought a Scorpio alarm for my last bike. It's still in the box. I didn't have a bike for about 2 years, but now I do have one. So I was thinking of installing this alarm on it.

Any recommendations where I can get it done, or if someone here can do it. Looking for an economical place.

Thanks in advance! :ride

I'm guessing bike alarms aren't that popular. : | But we find the stolen bike threads here all the time. I am trying to protect mine.

With online search, I found everyone stating it's an easy install. But I don't wanna take a chance doing it myself. Anyone with bike electronics background or knows of someone with such knowledge?

One downside of alarms.

If you park your bike for 2 weeks (give or take) the alarm power draw will kill the battery.

I have two scorpio alarms, the ones with the rfid remote that pages you when it's tampered and I agree with mototireguy. The alarm does kill you battery, but as long as you keep it on a tender (mine are garaged) you should be good. Also installing is very easy if you buy their manufactured-specific plug-n-play kit. The only sensor that required soldering is the ignition disabler (if you purchased it). I installed my kit in about an hour with soldering and all.
Good luck!

Protect yer bike with insurance.

Really? :laughing Obviously, all vehicles should have insurance. And I mean full coverage.

Mine is garaged too, and I use a battery tender. I do go on trips with friends or places where bike might be out of sight (or left out overnight at a motel parking lot). I try to get a room closer to the parking lot, but it's not always possible. For such instances an alarm would be good to have as added security.

I hear that it's easy to install. But I don't have much electrical background, so don't wanna short out things. I recently installed Motoworks' LED tail light with integrated turn signals, using the wires that came in their kit. Not sure how the Alarm wiring would with with those tail light integrated lights.

Anyways... if someone can help, I'd can pay you or a pack of beer of your choice :) Open to ideas.

Full insurance is not obvious to plenty of folk.

Possibly true for someone who drives/rides a beater. I presume most sensible people, who drive nicer vehicles/motorcycles would insure their investment. This, however, is a question of personal attachment to your ride and wanting to keep it, until I decide to sell it. :thumbup
