Ohhhh, I see. At first I was thinking, what's the big deal about endlessly streaming death metal, but the AI generates death metal.

NO U!

But this part was interesting..

Their Dadabots project uses a recurrent neural network to identify patterns in the music, predict the most common elements and reproduce them.

Implying that it's uniquely not unique. Makes me wonder if it's possible to create something 'truly' unique, but genres in themselves are a form of constraint, so probably not. Maybe best to consume cannabis later tonight and ponder this quandary.

I don't think we will ever see truly unique AI. Even a random number generator needs to be seeded with a number in the code. (at least back in the day when I took C)

randomness and uniqueness are not opposites

i suspect AI generated anything can be more unique than anything created by a human. AI is less constrained. humans have presumptions of what is good, tying their hands so to speak. so i suspect AI can/will give results that are beyond anything a human would bother trying.

this feed/song isnt a bad example. no human would ever create that. the overally rhythm is wrong. there phrasing is weird. parts dont really fit together. so its more unique than your every day popular deathmetal song.
