AFM Meeting minutes? Where and When?

Where and when will the members, myself included, be able to view the minutes of previous AFM meetings? Those of us who dont live close enough to attend the meetings are interested in what is being said and what is being decided for us :thumbup

I've been informed that you'll have to email the AFM Secretary and request them:

Secretary@AFMRacing.org

Since they won't be made publicly available until the BoD approves them, your best bet is to wait until just before the following meeting to ask for them so Connie doesn't have to remember everyone who asked. At least that's been my experience.

a lot of them were on the forums. At least up through December (that's all that I had looked for)

Meeting minutes can be sent by the secretary, but that's not the best way to do so. We're working on a solution for online presentation currently. The forums were an ok way to do minutes, but there has to be an easier way. Google docs (minutes are created in this) would be great if the limit wasn't at 200 addresses...much easier to maintain too. Any thoughts?

I don't think the requirement is that all members read the meeting minutes, just that they're available to all members who are interested in reading them.

So, just have any club member interested in the meeting minutes be included in the Google Docs. Have them email Connie to be added to the list. At the beginning of each year Connie can prune people who are no longer members. Worry about hitting the 200 address limit when you get there.

Just post a link to the Google doc in the AFM Forum here. If you make the document public there is no 200 limit

As an FYI, I'm happy to e-mail the minutes to anyone who wants them, once they're approved by the Board. Considering that, since I've been Secretary, the average views of the minutes posted on the old forum were about 12, with a high once of 27, and I know that at least 1 view is from me checking to make sure it doesn't look wrong, it's not that difficult to send to anyone who wants to see.
I'd rather send a few e-mails than deal with google docs, which just makes me want to pull my hair out... :laughing
Alan, shoot me an e-mail with the months you're interested in, and I'm happy to send them to you! :) :thumbup

How about all of them? This running around is ridiculous.

It's a public meeting, so being in a public forum, MEANS NOTHING! Post them! :)

Anyone can show up to a public AFM meeting, ANYONE!
p.s. no one is asking for the private AFM meeting minutes/notes.

:)

Actually that's not correct Rick. The board has the power to ALLOW non-members into the meeting, which we regularly do. These are not public meetings.

BTW, if you guys want to know what happened in the meeting, call a friggin board member…we've got 11 of them! I've said this forever…Nakishima was the only one who ever took me up on it. Sometimes minutes don't tell the story, so call a rep if you care.

Berto, thanks for the clarification. I take it this does not affect the viewing and admittance of any AFM members in good standing (ie, paid race license fees for the year)?

Oh hell, not this bs again... :rolleyes

Stop with the freakin secrecy already, there is no 'effin liability for the AFM, this is so bloody ridiculous and has been for too many years! There are no minutes to approve if the damn meeting is broadcast. Nobody bothers to sue an entity with practically nothing in the damn bank account, get over yourselves and quit acting like a bunch of 'effin lawyers trying to protect a multi-billion dollar corporation! Seriously, this crap is so absurd. Stick some flippin' GoPro's on tripods and let the club members know wtf is going on, enough with the lame excuses that "if you really cared, you would come to the meeting!" :rolleyes That's insulting to all the members who are restricted by geography and work schedules, join the new millennium and put technology to use so that the AFM membership knows what's going on with their club.

Really, I can't believe we're in 2014 and dealing with this nonsense and communications blockade. JFC, make the AFM board meetings available to members, you'll get a whole lot more people who will get involved and help out with the running of the club if they actually know wtf the AFM needs!

Why not just email the notes out to members? Have a big fat unsubscribe button at the bottom..?

C'mon Alex, video won't happen. It makes too much sense! :laughing
