This class is NOT for your middleweight 600cc inline 4 cyl. The last 2 races/rounds in this class at Buttonwillow were ruined by guys that entered this class and didnt belong.

so a newbie signs up for the wrong class, he gets berated so much afterwards for battling with bikes with 40 less horsepower, he won't come back the next round?
ummmm....He didn't get berated. In fact, apparently he was allowed to race and then get DQ'd afterwards. My statement was that he was educated in the class system and he won't be back in the 700 SS class again to disrupt those who are correctly registered in the class.
I didn't hear the part where he was allowed to race. We just talked about the bike not be legal for class. I assumed they were going to pull him from the grid.

Yes, I'm busy calculating the odds of the next rain race. Is it 3 drops on asphalt the size of a brick or is it 5 drops....I don't remember the official drops ruling?

Oh it's still 3-5 drops, but we have calipers now so that we can measure the drop diameter. In this way, the iPhone app algorithm can fully produce a determination of whether we should say heads we race or tails we race based on the year of the coin. One of the flaws is that it does not calculate pennies with any certainty after they changed the material used in 1982.
