Adventure riding short rides and BS thread

Went camping in Eldorado National Forest last weekend with a friend. The plan was to go from 88 to 50 to 80 using forest service roads. Unfortunately, the only suitable path from 50 to 88 was closed, so we exited by Wentworth Springs Road (very nice) to Georgetown.

Nice ride! I usually use Packsaddle Pass and Silver Fork to get from 50 to 88... they're still closed?

Whoops, typo! That's exactly what we took from 88 to 50:

From 50 to 80, we wanted to take Eleven Pines Road off of Wentworth Springs Road. It was closed:

Signal Peak OHV trail

Was up at the Sacto PITS property this weekend and went to try the Signal Peak trail.
There is the peak, seen from highway 80, near Eagle Lakes Road turnoff -

Nice dirt road to the trail head. This is also the way to Fordyce creek 4WD trail -

The beginning of the trail gets a bit steep, with loose rocks -

The trail smooths out after about a mile, with some fun obstacles here & there. I had a cheater bike

The views from the top are terrific -

There is an old stone cabin, that was for fire spotting when the train came through -

This place is worth a visit. I don't think I could make that loose hill on my DS bike, but there is a road up from the Cisco Grove exit that is supposed to be much smoother. Go check it out. :ride
