Adreani cartridges

Looking for opinions on Adreani fork cartridges.
Are they better than emulators in damper rod forks?
Are they better than stock fork cartridges in say early GSXR?
Are they better than stock cartridges with Gold Valve kits?
Can the be re-shimmed by local suspension gurus?

They seem to be reasonably priced, but I wonder about the value. Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you meant aNdreani and not aDreani? I can't really answer your questions directly. I have considered getting the Andreani kit for my Hyper but the stock stuff seems to do just fine for my weight/riding style. The only info I have on it is anecdotal, the guys on the Hyper forums who have used the Andreani kit have all loved it.

Yeah I'm a fountain of useful info here huh? :laughing

ive ridden those carts on an RC390. the damping curves were way off. the compression curve felt harsh. the rebound curve wanted to tuck the front over mid corner dips, like T2 at Laguna. I wouldn't use them at the track without getting them revalved. And because of that extra cost, id probably just buy Ohlins.

to answer your questions:
Yes
Depends on how bad the stock damping curve is
Maybe, maybe not.
Yes

i had them on my rc390,decent after revalve.i think you would have to do same with ohlins.way better than emulators, better than early gsxr carts.,carts with gold valves can be very good depending on suspension guy.

I'm pretty sure Andreani is parent? company to Ohlins... FWIW I've heard only amazing things about them

Andreani owns ohlins or same parent company etc.

I have the Piston kit for the tuonov4 forks. They are more plush then a similar spring setup 30mm ohlins carts drop ins.

Imo great quality and suspension setting starting suggestions.

They helped me win two 2012 championships in Novice ninja 250r, but that was because most guys had nothing or at most gold valve emulators...years later there are better options... it they worked great for me as an upgrade over stock dampers, (actually I had the intiminators installed first, which were okay but nothing like cartridges)

The best suspension is the one you can afford and dial
In.

Always go for the best you can afford. You will never be unhappy...

some out of the box Ohlins products don't need revalves. even if one did, its not uncommon to find a shop that will just do that on install. all of Ohlins stacks and damping curves are pretty ez to get for a shop or crew chief. so ya, even Ohlins is dependent on your suspension guy.

KTech has pretty good damping curves for their fork carts out of the box. IMO, they are the closest u can get without more work. unfortunately, the same isn't true of their shocks.

I ran them on my MV F3. they were an ok step. I replaced them with K-Tech DDS, because I wanted a finely tuned setup.

they're good, not great. It won't be a night and day difference.

For mostly street and occasional track, they're not a bad purchase

I run K-Tech in front and an Ohlins rear
