highlander
Been around
It was supposed to rain in the mountains this afternoon but by 1pm I said " screw it , no rain yet , I'm leaving "
So following " The Great Pashnit " recomendations , I headed south to do the Carmel Valley Rd / G17 loop.
What a great run it is.
At first the signs that said " double fine area " which covered the first 17 miles of the road makes you wish you'd gone ahead and bought that Valentine 1 detector you always thought about getting but then you gotta love the next sign after the speed traps that says " next gas 37 miles ". Time to twist the wrist!
The road has all riding surfaces, some bumpy sections , some smooth sections , damn cattle gaurds, high speed sweepers , Loooong staightaways on G17 , great scenery ( especially at the end of C.V. Rd) , decreasing radius corners... has it all!!
The terain is a lot different than the usual Skyline scenery.
All day long I only spotted two BMW riders on Hwy 1 coming north and one fellow sport rider heading east on CV RD .
If your looking for something diferent.... I give it two thumbs up!
