Has anyone else noticed that these large quakes are on a steady March North over the last few years? If memory serves, Chile was what, 2010? Then Peru in starting in 2011(?). There has been what seems to be a steady march north.

We're overdue for one here in California. Seems historically we have one every twenty years or so, and our last one was Northridge, which was fairly close to home for me, and that wasn't even the San Andreas.

Has anyone else noticed that these large quakes are on a steady March North over the last few years? If memory serves, Chile was what, 2010? Then Peru in starting in 2011(?). There has been what seems to be a steady march north.

We're overdue for one here in California. Seems historically we have one every twenty years or so, and our last one was Northridge, which was fairly close to home for me, and that wasn't even the San Andreas.

Actually, the cycle is about 30 years IIRC so we have a good chance of getting another big one by 2019.

Anything that happens along the same tectonic plate can increase the risks all along that plate. An earthquake is a slip and when one part slips it puts stress on other parts.
