Ok folks. Weather is supposed to be in the low 70s from now till the end of the weekend, so the roads will be warm and dry. What's the plan for this weekend?

guess where i'm going to be steve??

Yup, u guessed it 9... Mr. wolf, I have no work/school, friday-sunday. So whatever time's comfy with u. Although i think i maybe taking my bike in for servicing friday. So I can't ride till noon on fri. Besides that anytime's good for me. I prefer riding early morn: less traffic/cops.

why the fuck do u have a pic of a subaru below yur name?

just kiddin, those subarus are pretty quick (0-60 5.5sec?)
although, i've grown to dislike those cars, very much : i've almost been run over by one of those things, TWICE!! Driver ran a stoplight once, the other time almost switched lanes on top of me:eek

I just finished putting on my new tires (BT010), so I'm gonna try to scuff em up tomorrow. If all goes well, Friday should be good.

screw the tire break in period

100miles to break in!?!? It took me about 10:D I went down to the twisties the same day i replaced my tires. Just keep it slow through the first few corners. And lean the bike side to side on the straights. It should be fine. Although if your not comfortable, put a few more miles on it before riding hard.

Hi Patrick,

Let me know when your going out tomorrow... Do you like Page Mill or Alpine? Plenty of curves to help you break in those new tires.

250... the point of break-in for tires is usually nothing to do with slowly scrubbing in the tread - it, as I understand it, has to do with getting oils out of the tire and breaking in the cords, not the rubber.

OTOH, I've heard that racers break them in over the course of just a few laps. :D

oils I can understand, the cord part :confused .

what about this "proper heat cycling before use" I keep hearing about? though must be less critical for a street tire than race.
