Hi all, just checking out the 2020 rulebook and noticed that Formula 3 was revised to "100-400cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder." Prior years were 100-450cc 4-stroke singles.
Unfortunately, this now leaves a 401-450cc 4-stroke single-cylinder gap in the Formula classes:
F3: 100-400cc
F2: 451-Open
F4: 500-Open
This means that my race-based, 450cc 4-stroke single is legal for only one class, Formula Singles, 245-Open cc.
I understand that a bike like this would reduce the amount of racing I'd get to participate in, but it's disappointing to be down to only one class. Certainly makes it hard to justify the effort of coming out to an AFM weekend. I'm hoping that the rulebook is in error and there still is a home for a 401-450cc single in one of the F2-F4 classes.
Looking forward to your reply,
Kegan Connick
