Check Kelly Blue book, NADA, CycleTrader, Ebay, Craigslist (even though some people on Craigslist are asking non-realistically high prices and will never be able to sell the bike at their asking price), and know what the current market value of a similar bike is before considering a purchase. Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated. Don't fuck it up, because the next step is disabling the "reply" feature entirely.
    • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.
    • If you are interested in an item, feel free to PM, email or contact the seller privately. Feel free to post if you need clarification... however, your post should be in line with above mentioned rules.

Bike sold this morning, enjoy her Warren!

Asking price: $3,900 (1% going to BARF)

Super sweet SV650 setup to be a perfect street/track bike. I got it intending to be my daily ride + track day bike, but as I mainly commute via carpool it's parked too often for such a nice bike.

- 2007 Suzuki SV-650 standard
- 6,600 miles (will slowly increase as I commute)

Front end:
- 2007 GSXR-750 complete fork, triple tree, brakes, and wheel.
- New radial master cylinder from a GSXR-1000
- Steel brake lines
- Custom machined top triple clamp in same design as OEM to accommodate the thicker forks, and allows for proper mounting of instrument cluster to the triple clamp.

Rear end:
- 2007 GSXR-750 rear wheel conversion (done by Zoran) w/ 180 rear tire
- Rear brake steel lines
- Elka shock (built by Zoran) setup for 180 pound rider
- 525 chain w/ 15/48 gearing

Engine:
- Dale Walker Holeshot high mount slip-on
- Dynojet Power Commander V with custom map
- Race air filter (sorry forget the brand)

Miscellaneous:
- Pro Taper Evo handlebar, magnesium finish, Ricky Carmichael bend
- Ottimoto adjustable rear sets (currently setup for reverse shift pattern but can easily be swapped)

Beautiful set up! $3900 is cheap for such a nice, low-mile SV.

Sorry, been offline all day. I didn't make it myself, the previous owner either made it or had it made, or I suppose if they are available for sale someplace he could've bought it. I do recall him saying it was machined for the bike and anodized black because he liked everything on the front end black (he was not happy with me when I added the magnesium colored Pro Taper bar, lol).

Anyways, it looks totally stock, I didn't even realize it was unusual until it occurred to me the GSXR forks shouldn't fit into a stock clamp.

Lol, miss you buddy, we had some good times. :) Btw I am asking less on BARF than on Craigslist just because I have so much history with you fine people.

Those are all nice, but they also assume it's for an S model with the instrument cluster mounted to the front fairing stay. The naked bikes don't have anywhere to mount the cluster if you remove the stock upper triple clamp - normally they mount to the bottom of the clamp. That's why I like my setup - it has the stock under clamp mounting holes so you don't have to worry about where to attach i, it goes where it's supposed to. :)

That looks right. That's not Scott Reavey, is it? He's the only Scott I knew when racing SV's, but just taking a guess here.

Anyways, thanks for finding that, it was cool to see. Now someone just needs to buy the bike! :)
