SOLD 2006 Honda Hornet 599 or CB600F - perfect commuter, trade for dual sport, others
Hi folks,
This is a Black 2006 Honda Hornet 599 (or CB600F). It's for sale for $3450.00.
It's the absolutely perfect commuter bike: 40mph per gallon, upright sitting position, comfortable seats, low pegs, light bike and plenty of power when you need it. I have since added the heated grips, it's just even more comfortable on those cold mornings.
I bought this bike for my wife to learn on it, so it has a couple of scratches due to low speed tip overs, one on each side during u-turn practices, but otherwise looks great. She's didn't ride much, so I think it's time to get something I can ride more often that doesn't overlap with my other bikes.
Bike has still new Michelin Pilot Road PR4 tires, original manual and tools, and a clean title in my name. Last valve check at 16k miles. Original tools and manuals. Lots of paper work with service records. Bag with some OEM parts and others. I have the OEM passenger grab handle, but I liked the look without it for the most time. Tires have less <1000 miles on them.
Bought the bike with the Suburban Machinery Café Racer low style handlebars that will be included with sale (see pictures). Have a bunch of original parts to go with it (indicators, levers, mirrors, etc.). I have since replaced handlebars with gold Rizoma parts, for a more upright riding position (with an extender too), in tune with it's Italian heritage (bike was built by Honda Italy). See review of the bike here.
Bike is well taken care off and it's in great running condition. Soft clutch action, great brakes, screaming engine can be a blast at 12k rpm (it's the Honda F3 engine), or docile at low rpms. Truly great beginner/canyon carving bike. The new bars gives the rider a lot of leverage to negotiate urban traffic and tight twisties like Mt. Diablo. Tires grip well rain or shine, hot or cold. Has the sweet sounding MIVV exhaust.
Prefer a trade for a dry clutch Ducati with upright ergos (Monster 900 or Monster S2R/S4 and also like the 1st gen. Multi) or for a light weight adventure, with emphasis on the dirt side, like a KTM. But I'd look into Motard types, with more than 50hp. But cash is also accepted.
I'll pay the Barf 1% guaranteed. Shoot me questions.
Some pictures.
