1990 BMW R100GS Paris-Dakar
$5000
This is the European version with 40mm carbs and gauges in km. I bought this bike from Brent Hansen of Brent's BMW in Sebastapol. The work and upgrades where done by him and then he rode the bike to Alaska and back with his wife a few years ago. I bought it about a couple years ago and while it is lovely I ride my other airheads more. This is a well sorted GS with all the upgrades and fixes done that is ready to go back to Alaska today. Just rebuilt the carbs with all new rubber bits including the boots. Fresh oil change, carb balance and valve adjust. Running like a champ and ready for a big trip. I also replaced the choke cables since they where a bit sticky. Throttle and clutch cables where replaced last year so still in good shape.
Transmission rebuilt with higher fifth gear and lower first
Kickstarter (rare, cool and mostly useless on these bikes)
Aftermarket drive-shaft
Ohlins rear shock with remote preload adjust, not sure what is in the forks but feels better than stock
Heads rebuilt (I think Brent did the rings and pistons as well, but not 100% sure, burns very little oil)
BMW R1100 dual piston brake caliper with stainless steel line and new brake pads (way better than stock)
Denso starter (the good, expensive one. Stock starter included as spare)
Russel Day Long seat (original included but rough)
Parabellum and stock windshields. The Parabellum has a small crack near one mounting hole.
Heated grips
LED driving lights
New rear tire, front has a few thousand miles
Newer battery
Extra complete rear wheel
Clean title, current registration etc.
High mileage, unknown as the odometer has been replaced.
Cosmetically ok, bit sun faded and plenty of dings and scrapes from being ridden
Would consider trade for KTM 640/690/950/990, Husquvarna 630/701, Africa twin, BMW /2 conversion, Ducati Pantah or other interesting stuff.
For some reason I am having issues getting photos to post on Barf lately, photos here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9jn6803hjq20ekt/AAAfKfVnCfT1FqySmAox0cDla?dl=0
