'15 R6 Race Stay and Windshield Mount Issue

Having an idiot moment with a new to me R6 and installing a Motoholders race stay.. see the photos. Seems like the zero gravity windscreen or janky race bodywork on there is incorrect.

Stay says explicitly it's for this model and it matches up online.

Am I missing a piece of hardware or mount point?

the ZG race windscreen has a hole there instead of the scooped out areas. that plus a little bending of the stay or trimming of the fiberglass would prob make it fit perfect

mounting the fairing stay directly to the windscreen means you greatly increases your chances of replacing the windscreen in a crash. they are brittle. and that usually means you need a new numberplate too. id rather replace the OE fairing stay with $40 knockoffs.

So to be clear, you're saying this is a street bodywork compatible windscreen and won't work with this race stay?

The PO had just janked a bent tab on the OE stay and zip tied the other side to the fiberglass... the race stay doesn't seem to have a point anywhere that makes sense that it would mount to.

another shitty thing - they are more expensive than the street ones at $129 or something. And you cant find them on sale.

how does it look when you try to install using the OEM stay?
Does everything match?

Well that's some bullshit. I'm drilling a hole in the windscreen and zip tying it and see how that goes before spending money. It's a brand new windscreen...

Edit: Robert you're great for taking that photo for me. I appreciate it a lot. That's clearly how it's supposed to be.

No, it doesn't. The PO had some janky tab that the fabbed onto the OEM stay that bolts to one side of the nose piece of the upper below the windscreen. The windscreen isn't secured. It was zip tied underneath as well.
