108, 395, 4 loop yesterday

It was a great day. Started out of Fremont at 8 am and got back around 7 pm. Beautiful day for riding except the slab on the way back down 5 and 205/580. It turned cold and the wind gusting on 5 was slapping us around. All in all a fun day.

The lakes along 4 were still primarily covered in ice. The high country is beautiful. Lots of folks up in the hills enjoying the spring weather. Families picnicking at the lakes, mountain bikers running around the summit along 4, sightseers cruising and gawking. Beautiful day to be out and about.

Did that ride on the 11th. Looks like about a 2' snowmelt in 9 days, going fast. We did have a few snowflakes fall on Monitor Pass.

We had three: two VStars and my CBR. The barf salute pic is with my dad. The other rider taking the pics led our trio and he says he tries to make that run twice a year: once in the spring and again in the fall when the leaves change. One the things I noticed was that the aspens up near Ebbets were still bare while the trees down near the lakes had already popped leaves. I feel a little pang of loss for not having gotten off the bike more and hiked around a bit. Time constraints though.

Sweet. I was there on Sunday. On Hwy 108. Was surprisingly warm not dropping below the 50s.
