Tiger, Hire a Driver

Me too.

That said, it occurred to me that if I ever won a huge lottery, that I would be like Howard Hughes, buy a hotel, and live on one of the floors.

That way, they're not "my" servants, per se, but they're nearby and handy, and the Chef in the kitchen will make whatever I want. If I want pot roast that, then, shazam, blue plate special.

So, you know, servants, but...not servants.

Yeah, there is a difference between buying services and having a servant. I'm horrified at the idea of having a driver, but I use Uber all the time. I just don't like the idea of living a life personally with subordinates in it. Having servants, those people are part of your life, having people in my life in a subordinate role like that is uncomfortable to me, I would feel the same about the Hotel life, like I could move around from hotel to hotel, but not just have a daily same person on call for years.

What was the top speed when you had to wind up the car with the crank in front though?

No dude.

Is he sponsored by hyundai or does he just really want to blend in with the general public or is he a cheap skate?

My guess would be Genesis is one of the event sponsors and it was provided to him for promotional purposes. It seems to have worked. It got on the news.

Rolls with it...
Genesis was the sponsor of the PGA event at the Riviera CC this past weekend. Auto sponsors provide courtesy cars for PGA golfers and other VIPs.

SOP at tournaments...

Edit: Tiger is a spokesman for Genesis, and "hosted" the event...

old and slow
Tiger was the tournament host and as has been said, was driving the title sponsor's loaner vehicle. They're not supercars, but Hyundai makes one of the best bangs for the buck with the Genesis series. Trouble is, it's still a Hyundai and carries that antiquated stigma.

Can't speak to Tiger's state of being. Can speak about a Genesis, but only from observation.

A guy I work with bought one for his wife for the bells and whistles without the Mercedes price tag. From day-one the brakes were never right. Spent more time in the shop both before and after warranty than it did on the road.

Mushy feel, loooong stops, dealer excuses. ABS light came on after warranty expiration and the repair on the system cost almost what the value of the car was.

My question becomes; what is the service history of the vehicle Tiger was driving? My hope is that Tiger has an attorney that hasn't been affiliated with a political effort.

Will Forte said he's naming his first kid "Kia"....

It'll take some time. They have a much harder hill to climb than Toyota and Honda did with their luxo brands.

Damn, although he doesn't need our sympathy, can't help but feel for the guy.

I'm guessing this was simply a combination of an unfamiliar car on unfamiliar roads, and perhaps a distracted driver. If it was a deer or something like that we probably would have already heard about it.

Since no one else was hurt we'll probably never find out what really happened. A look at his cell phone records might tell an interesting story though.

From what I saw of a video of the accident scene, he must have been traveling very fast, possibly triple digits. I wonder if he exceeded the aerodynamic capabilities of the vehicle, went past the speed rating on the tires or just over-corrected and the crappy suspension couldn't handle the correction. He's damn lucky to still be alive.

Tiger has had multiple car crashes due to substance abuse, err I mean enjoyment.

Golf superstar Tiger Woods had painkillers, sleep drugs and an ingredient active in marijuana in his body when Florida police arrested him in May, a newly released toxicology report shows.

The report says the five different drugs that were traced in his system were: Hydrocodone, an opioid pain medication; Hydromorphone, another type of painkiller; Alprazolam, an anxiety drug also under the brand name Xanax; Zolpidem, a sleep drug also under the brand name Ambien; and Delta-9 carboxy THC, which is found in marijuana.

I'm guessing this latest crash is more of the same.

With a repaired compound (multiple in same bone) fracture, he's probably going to be on some serious pain medications.

His issues are probably going to get worse if that was the path he was on unless he gets some serious intervention.

LACSD said they don't believe he was impaired... :dunno

Edit: And to clarify, bo's quote up there is actually referencing May 2017... :thumbup

Side note: he just had back surgery. He's been complaining about body wear and tear for a few years now. He's known to be "addicted" to pills.

His team released some info:

Both legs broke. 1 required a rod through the tibia (top and bottom broken). Ankle required fusions and pinning.

IF he comes back, it'll be as a Senior Pro

It's shockingly easy to roll a car. If you've never seen one happen live real time, it's so hard to understand the mechanism.

Tiger hit the median and, I assume, overcorrected. Once he was in the dirt, all done.

I'm wondering if him being used to much, much better vehicles was a factor in this accident. With a high performance car you can do things that a SUV like this would not even begin to handle.
