Tesla Model 3: End of the Internal-Combustion Engine?

It should. In this day and age, anything that involves occupant safety, only needs one or two cases (especially if they make national news) before the manufacturer puts out a countermeasure and recalls everything.

Sure. That is a real thing. GM knew about their ignition switch thing for years. And their cost analysis found that it was cheaper to let it go. But, once the issue made national news? Recall.

Fair enough.

I can't decide if it is a good thing or a bad thing.

Some people are stuck in their own ways, some people are simply .. different in their understanding ways. Some need to follow, some posts end up here.

BTW--and once again--from the POV of user experience, if a thread is on top it does not necessarily mean that people will see it. People look for "bolded threads"

Dude literally the link posted right above this post says that it did.

It seems a poor choice of words from the article.

Saying "the car stops" conjures up images of it just turning off and coming to a halt on a busy freeway.

This is not the same thing as the car becoming inoperable.

They don't seem to specify which one is actually happening in the article.

Nope. It didn't say the car stops.

That's like saying your car stops if the 12V battery dies. It doesn't.

This is a poor design choice by Tesla for sure but it's not something that's a safety hazard.

A vehicle will not shift into any gear with a lack of electric power unless the manual option is used. Same as Dave, I don't see that the car slowed itself or is simply unable to move.
