so glad I got out of california. sheesh. just bought my CCW/LTC m&p9 today.
Just wait until you order a gun online for a great price, have it shipped to your FFL and then walk out with it the same day you do the NICS check.

I hate extraneous taxes for no reason that will not be used for their intended purpose. :thumbdown
Only a one time tax? Just like the dros fee done on every gun is a one time fee. One time per transaction.
This bill imposes a $25 excise tax, as of January 1, 2020, on the sale of a new firearm with proceeds to be deposited into the California Violence Intervention and Prevention (CalVIP) Firearm Tax Fund (FTF) for purposes of funding violence prevention grants to communities disproportionately affected by violence.
The rationale may be to tax additions to the inventory.
Only if your DL matches DOJ files. And now we have the ammo background check too, good thing its only a buck per transaction.
Only if your DL matches DOJ files.
If you bought a firearm and then moved, your DL no longer matches the DOJ records. If they can't find your DL in the DOJ, then you have to buy that good for 30 days, 1 transaction only Ammo Ticket or whatever for, what, $29?
It's really extraordinary. Pity the poor hunter coming in state who wanted a box of 20 rounds for their rifle because they forgot to pack it.
These fees are a way for the antis/cali politicos to get their foot in the door and slowly continue to pry it up with passing more and more bills/laws.
