Hi all. Sunday's weather is looking excellent at Sonoma so sign up soon for the last weekend track day at Sonoma in 2019. Also, for those of you trying to sell your S.O. on spending Easter at the track, we'll have a small brunch for adult non-riders (think mimosas) and we'll have an egg hunt for the young kiddies.

Camping available Saturday night. Email me with any questions.

See you there.

This will be my fist time at Sonoma and on a new to me track bike. I am riding intermediate and was wondering if I would be able to ride the sight seeing lap with novice group as my first session instead of the first intermediate session? Or would it be possible to ask a Z2 coach to follow him/her for a lap or two? Or is that only for novice group?

Instructors are available in all riding groups.

Ask after morning rider to ride the C group sighting lap, I’m sure it will be fine. I’ve seen others do it.

Yes you are more than welcome to join the sighting laps in the first C Group session. No passing under waving yellow :thumbup

Instructors are there to help everyone no matter what group you are riding in :ride

Anybody have space in a trailer for an extra bike coming from SF? More than happy to pitch in for gas etc.

Just to reiterate here: yes, we are generally o.k. with B riders going out in the first C session but that entire first session - all 20 minutes - is follow the leader with full course yellow so no passing at all. We've had folks go out who said they fully understand the situation but then bombed around everyone after half a lap.

Yup, thats pretty much what I want to do, just follow an instructor to get an idea of the track, and get all the corners in my head before I go out by myself.

Cool. Come find me or Allen or any of the instructors before the session and we'll get you figured out. Having said that, everyone tends to go at a slower pace during that first B session and as mentioned, we'll have instructors in all groups.

See you there.

Try posting in the Trackdays For Sale section, you will have a higher chance of finding one there if someone is willing to sell. Good luck.

Ouch, I was wondering what happened. Is the instructor doing ok?

From the vid, it looks like the guy in front of him braked on the front straight? :wow

From the video description:
Crash on the front straight that led to an ambulance ride. Lead bike had blown a couple of mechanical flags for having an operational brake/tail light, and two control riders went to reel him in. From what I can tell, coming onto the front straight the lead rider finally saw the mechanical flag and hit the brakes hard on the hot line, leading to one cartwheeling bike and a lot of evasive action.
