NOTE: mY engleesh iz week, dis mite b a lil haaard 2 reed.
I dont mind corrections.
I was trying to get my first dirt bike and after lurking on the moto sale section here and on CL for a couple of weeks I decided to post in the WTB MOTO Section here on BARF. Fast forward a few days and I found the perfect bike, that i was looking for, right here on BARF and below is the reason why I love BARF so much.
BARF is such an amazing community to a part of, its so easy to buy a motorcycle from a fellow barfer. I didnt test ride the bike, i wasnt even concerned when I went to see it. I just knew PhoS is from BARF and that its just not POSSIBLE to get ripped off by a barfer. PhoS was supper cool and now I have a dirt bike (would anyone teach me how to ride one now?)
As I'm only visiting the Bay Area for a couple of months, I needed to transport myself around and the bike that I just got to all the amazing parks and tracks California has to offer. I was thinking to just buy a cheap shity truck but the lack of funds was making it hard to find one that ran. However, a barfer, JimE, who rode the Himalayas of Pakistan with me (twice) called and said I could borrow his truck for the time I'm around here. :thumbup
I offered JimE to pay for insurance/registration costs plus for any work the Tacoma might need but his reply was, "no, just return it with a full tank of gas." :thumbup
Now I had the truck, the bike, a pair of gloves and a helmet. I went to Hollister last Monday, alone.
I was a bit nervous at first. Not knowing ALL the rules, I didnt want to piss other rides off unintentionally. I didnt want to go on a trail the wrong way or maybe there are some areas where riders are not allowed? I dont know, i was just a little nervous of fukin it up.
Well guess WHAT!! I MET ANOTHER F*CKING BARFER - lkosewsk
We talked for a few minutes, I told him I crashed at the MX track just now. He walked up to my bike and saw the right side hand guard all twisted, making it really hard to even grip the throttle properly. He pulled out his tools and fixed up my bike. Then we rode some trails together and now we are friends and we plan to ride again soon. Maybe even carpool to Hollister :thumbup
What the FUCK! WHO ARE YOU GUYS???
I cant wait to go back to Pakistan and tell everyone I know (i know a few people) how amazing this country is. I told PhoS and lkosewsk I was from Pakistan and still they did not hesitate. They didnt get scared of me or took a back foot, they actually step ahead and went out of their way to help me out. I cant wait to go back home and tell everyone there how amazing people are on the other side of the pond. Not everyone is a Trumper!
I can't express my feelings properly right now, but just know that I'm very very thankful to all of you for being so unbelievably amazing. You guys are absolute magic. You guys are the "good things" in life. I feel at home whenever I visit California because of you guys, because of BARF.
Last but definitely not the least, all you guys who work so hard, all the admins, contributors, budman and other people who help run BARF, I salute you! You all are true heros!
Much love,
Khan
