I had something for sale, I get the "I'll take it" PM, than crickets, nada, zip, nothing.

Yesterday I read about someone getting ran off his motorcycle and as expected the person that hit him, just took off, leaving him to fend for himself.

Just 2 days ago, I heard about an motor officer that was struck and killed while stopped at a red light. And yeah, you guessed it, the suspect ran and left the officer for dead.

If you're getting your ass beat on the street corner now-a-days, expect witnesses to record the incident and have it uploaded to YouTube before calling 911.

Wear the wrong color and you could get cold capped in the cranium.

What happened to us:

Is it MYOB?

Is it the desire for money, power, fame?

Is it a lack of caring, morals or just plain ole self preservation?

The 60's, I loved the 70's and think the 80's may of been the best decade ever. the 90's were still pretty good, come along the year 2000 and we basically shit on one another. The only thing I learned is a civilized nation only need about 200 years before it turns on itself and begins to eat it's own young.

Empathy is viewed as a sign of weakness, so we don't do that any more. As a culture, we've somehow contorted Capitalism to mean "I've got mine, fuck you." This, of course, changes when the tables turn, of course...but that's not surprising.

Posted a bit of a rant on Calguns about people haggling down the price, asking me to hold an item, then flaking, wasting weeks and months of my time - and I was selling it for a buddy, wasn't even mine. Stopped bothering after a while - buddy wasn't desperate for the money and refused the lowball offers (~50% of a brand new, still in box item that he was offering 30% off on - $1400 new + tax, selling for $1050, offers of $750 kept coming in). Stopped bumping the thread, forgot to delete - 7 months later (last week) I get not one but 3 offers asking if it was still available, and 2 repeated lowball offers of $750 - one from a repeat offender who'd offered $800 before. I posted a bitch fit bump on the thread stating yes, it was still available, and I'd stopped trying to sell it and let it sit in the closet due to flakes. 8 hours later I got a PM with a cell number, texted him, sold it the next day for $900. $150 lower than asking price and took almost a year to sell, but...:dunno

Had a guy yesterday offer to buy a gun off of Calguns, fucking guy says he'll send me a air line tickets to and from LA so he can buy my gun. Wait, fuck-tard, if you have tickets, fly your dumb ass down here and buy the fucking gun already or maybe you missed the part of my ad that says exchange to take place in "San Jose."

So then what, I fly down there, waste a day flying back and fourth, try to get a gun on a fucking jet plane [Sarcasm]I'm sure it easier than it sounds [/Sarcasm] oh and I'm sure once I got there, he'd either be MIA, have a change of heart or low ball me once at his gun store, that aside how the fuck would I get around, a taxi, his roommate, use the force? Interesting radio conversation about wth is wrong with today's society. The Nurse who defied Quarantine was chosen as the emobodiment of all whats wrong.
Its commendable for volunteering for Doctors without borders. She returns to US and fights to become a menace to the public's health. An attitude of 100% self centered and 0% social responsibility.
The circus of media and politicians who involved themselves in the situation. Seen as a symptom of the problem.

I personally have no opinion cause if anyone who would of caught Ebola from the rogue Nurse. It would be people from New York or New Jersey :laughing

We have a fractured and soulless culture in this country. Simple as that. It's a culture based on consumerism to the nth degree, where your self worth is wrapped up what you own, not who you are. Surround that with endless advertising at every level designed to lower your self esteem, a capitalist system particularly based on greed and amorality, And you have a bad recipe.

I would like all y'all to focus on all good that is also happening around you - people volunteering at food banks and homeless shelters, people donating blood, helping out their friend. I suspect many of the good deeds may be provided by you guys yourself. Yes, there are shitty things happening in the world (always have been), but then again a lot of good is also happening (always have been). Now which side of the coin are you going to focus on?
