Would you stop in the middle of the ride to take photos / videos?

Nice picture. Nice different effects.

I stop and take pictures, I actually bring a SLR not just my phone.

This way...That way...
Sometimes just a quick shot from the saddle is enough to remind me of some particular ride. I shoot more if I'm riding alone. With others, I get more into the ride than into photography -- unless they are like minded.

I like to stop and take pictures during a ride. But most of the time I miss the opportunity because
a). I can't find a place to pull over and park and still get the same view I had while riding, or
b). and most annoyingly, I have just passed some slowpoke RV or some other vehicle I have been trailing for miles, and I will be damned if I will let them get ahead of me again!

I’ve been known to stop and take a few photos on rides sometimes.

:laughing

Yes you do..!

I pull out my phone at most stops. My grandson likes bike pics so I text them to my son so he can share them.. once in a while a little video message too.

I try to get a nice bike shot.. a helmet selfie is always good because I look young in a helmet :p

When alone... depends on the mood.

Nice pics OP :thumbup

Pictures are memories. I don't stop as often as I should.

A few of my memories.

Are we having fun yet?
Stopping for photos is like a game of treasure hunt. If I didn’t stop at an interesting spot it’d bug me for days until I go back to that spot on a later ride, so I tend to do a lot of u-turns during a ride. It also lets me take a good look of the surroundings that most people hurriedly go by.

I usually snap at least one shot per ride, sometime I regret blowing past a good view because I'm having too much fun on the bike or trying to squeeze the ride into a tight time frame. It's nice to go back and look as past rides.

And that is the reason why I don't have more good photos from Highway 1 between Monterey and Cambria. With the slow guys behind and a clear road ahead, I don't want to stop.

If you follow this thread, you know that I take a few photos on each ride.

Nope, would never dream of it.

Nor would I ever sit in the middle of a racetrack and take pictures.

I have, though the track wasn't hot at the time.

It all depends on circumstances. I'll usually pull to the side and if what I'm looking for requires a trip to the center of the road, I'll do it if it's safe. Sometimes it's safe enough to just stop the bike in the middle but not often.

The last one is 108 at 395. No clue about the others, but it looks like you shot the middle one while moving? I'm guessing you didn't want to stop in the middle of the ride over Sonora Pass to take pics. Make sense, though I stop. It's pretty up there.

There was someone on advrider who used to post shots of themself seated in the middle of the road. They never got run over on camera. As far as I know. Some of you must remember her.
