Would you sit next to your dead partner for 9 hours?

Say you were with your significant other and somehow they choked to death. Would you sit next to them for nine hours while their body is starting to decompose?

It happen to a couple during a 10-1/2 hour flight.

I think I would ask for the body to be wrapped up and put in the baggage compartment to keep it fresh. My desire to want to stay close to a loved one would begin to diminish once the body got cold and begin to stiffen up and start smelling like a dead corpse. :(

I would also call for dibs on their dinner meal. It's very hard to mourn on an empty stomach. :x

It actually takes about a day or two for putrefaction to set in. It usually takes more than a day for it to go through rigor mortis and algor mortis.

Personally, if I was in that situation, I would hold my sweetheart for the remainder of the flight.

I've seen enough dead bodies, I don't think that I would be bothered much by just a dead body. I'd probably not even think about that, because I'd be thinking about having lost a loved one.

Well first, she didn't have to, she choose to....read the story.

And I would have done the same thing.

I agree ith Sane Man.

I would probably be an emotional wreck for a looong time,, and want to stay close to the person, but after a while- it might get a little creepy.

Don't people go #1 and 2 when they die?

Who would want to sit next to that for more than 1 hour?

Oh snap! If my S/O were dead, she wouldn't be able to say no to me PIITB!

That's just nasty.

Really sad situation, wasting food and not being able to have someone watch your back while you sleep on a plane ride.

The man would scramble F16's on your ass for taking too long in the schitter! :laughing

no brainer. I would hold her until the plane landed and probably want to hold her longer. in fact they would probably have to pry me off her after the plane landed. some of you are void of feelings.

Never been in the situation, so I can't tell you what I would do. I know this though, I would be a wreck. Seeing my wife die next to me because she choked on some food! What would I tell my children?

THIS!

If they meant that much to you alive, you can suck it up while they are dead.

Yes, I would stay with my SO.

Yes, the bladder and bowels empty at death, but that wouldn't stop me from spending those final moments together.

You have experience in this area?

no thank god, never had someone drop dead in my presence.. I've seen a few dead bodies but that really has nothing to do with it. for me it would be someone that i have been married to for over 20 years, the mother of my child, my partner in life. I would want to say goodbye and want to hold and be with her until she was safely taken off the plane. i would not want her to be alone.

I have a feeling you would do the same.
