The truck was fully stopped when it was hit. Target fixation. The rider was on the right side of the road; the truck has pulled to the right. Sure this is a second guess but stay on the gas and it would have been close but he may have just rode by the truck. Yes, the truck driver would be right thing the rider as an ass.

Better don't outride your sightline.
