Where to stop on PCH. (Sites to see)

Yes, one of these threads.

OK, here's the story in a nutshell. I'm stuck here at UOP, sans bike. I drove up and didn't have time to make arrangements to bring my bike with me. This is my last year and I don't want to leave my bike at home all year like I did last year. I'm trying to think of a good time to go back home (probably by train/bus) so I can ride back up and be able to explore the roads of the Bay Area on some weekends.

What are the good places, landmarks, restaurants, etc I should stop at on the way back? I'm thinking of doing this in 2 days, maybe, if there's enough to see/do. I don't wanna blaze through it just stopping for gas otherwise I might as well ride back up the 5 all in one shot. Right? Anything worth seeing on the 101?

I haven't completely ruled out the option of just renting a truck from home, tossing my bike in the back, and just coming back on the 5... But I'd like to do something more interesting than that.

If a "What to do on PCH thread" has been posted sometime recently,

...well suck it.:twofinger I don't care.

Please and thank you:party

OMG nothing but options
How many days do you want to take? Do you camp or motel/hotel it?
There are a lot of moto friendly stops along the way.
Need more info with respect to intentions and length of time allocated to bringing the bike up.

hey I had a CHP officer give me awesome insight into back roads following a stop for excessive speed up in the Sierras :)
He was really cute too-sadly I could have been his Mom :(

I don't have any specific number of days set in stone. I have a whole week's break between end of summer and beginning of fall semester so I can more or less do whatever I want.

If you tell me enough sites and things to do for 2-3 days, I'll highly consider it and probably do it. If there's enough to just do in a day, I'll do a day.

Motel/Hotel. No camping. I'm too much of a nancy boy for that.:x

It's the Harvard of Stockton.

I'm partial to the east slope of the Sierra myself, Ebbett's or Sonora Pass would bring you back just east of home. You can make decent time on 395 or take some side trips like Benton, 168/White Mountain to the Methusalah Tree, Schat's Bakery and Bode. Mono Lake is on the way, Monitor Pass is on the menu, can't lose

I'll dig out maps at work tomorrow and see where which lodging places offer motorcycle discounts.
3 days will give you an INCREDIBLE ride. Jealous here.

Bump.

I ended up just taking the 5 back up due to time constraints.

But

Semester is over in 2 weeks and I'd like to go home down the coast instead of the 5.

So I still need help with this but in reverse order. I'm starting from UOP in Stockton.
