When does insurance go up?

Hey-

I'm curious to know when insurance is able to raise rates based on traffic infractions. If I get a ticket and my insurance renews near that same time, can they raise my rates before my court date?

I thought they could only do that based on an actual conviction, not just a citation. Does it matter if the ticket was from the State or Federal (park ranger) jurisdiction?

Thanks!

My understanding (but I'm neither an LEO or an insurance person) is that the insurance carrier access your DMV record at-will. No telling when they'll see the citation. When do the raise the rates? If they feel like raising your rate(s), usually after they see the DMV printout.
State park? Dunno
Federal park? Pay the citation, then forget about it. Currently, the feds don't inform the state DMV of driving citations/infractions.

Why don't you call your agent and ask them? Then you can post the answer here. :thumbup

What? And go against everything that's being taught to today's generation? Why take the time to make a quick phone call and talk to the person who actually knows the answer when you can go to a web forum, start a discussion thread, and get hundreds of replies from people who have no idea what they're talking about - and then waste time reading 32 off-topic replies?
:rofl (sort of like this one! :p )
