I mean seriously.
What happened to actually DRIVING or RIDING. Taming the beast!
I see people riding these bikes with ABS, Pussy...oops I mean traction control....When is there going to be stability management? Hill assist? $H^T your 30,000$ bmw 1millionrr has all that doesn't it? Probably has Noob...I mean lean indicators too huh?
When does the pinnacle of technology start separating us from them.
I mean if motorcycling appears safe with all the electronic safety this and that...Then all those prius drivers will be jumping on the bandwagon! :|
I see it already, prius drivers on can-am tripod things.
The husky has electric start...I don't like it. Takes some of my ballhair away. I like to kick the beast over a few times as it snorts and fights back, only to start with a lovely sound indicative of speed, power, and fun.
Why oh why was I born post 2-smoke glory and helmet laws. (I would probably still wear a helmet but missing the point)
Instead you start up your superplush multistrada (which sounds like a bitch bike btw.) and go putt your way down the wet street all stable and safe with no fear of ever hitting the brakes to hard or sliding the rear around a corner. Nope that there computer will put the pussy into your right hand for you. :laughing
I hate picking up parts in my jeep. The experience is not engaging at all. You turn the wheel a bit, hit the brakes and gas; basically drives itself. I can listen to the radio and eat my cheetos all I want. Oh yay. :rolleyes
SCREW THAT. :thumbdown
I want to shift gears, slide around corners with too much power on 1970's suspension with loud creaking noises and the roar of a v8. Hit speeds so high the braking ability of the car is questionable :laughing Man, cant wait for my 5 speed swap to be done. Killing me. :cool
All I am asking here is; Why bother? The fear of operator error is what creates the thrill of motorcycling; and the drive to improve the skill level. If you start out on a bike with traction control, abs, and god knows what else comes on these things, are you a rider anymore? Or are you just the thing that makes the bike turn?
What comes next in the way of motorcycle electronics. Hell, I think if you lean too much it will start taking the throttle away. Is this stability management?
/rant :x
