What is going on with Teachers Sexing their students?

So long as sexual assault and harassment is on the docket;

While it's always been the running joke about the "hot" teacher tempting the boys and one lucky guy getting taken advantage of (something in popular movie culture), lately I'm seeing about two or so cases a WEEK where teachers are being fired and indicted on statutory rape cases. Some involve multiple student at a time and most of the teachers are married with children. I'm pretty blown way by the amount of allegations coming to the surface, but not much public discussions on it...Not all, but most are Older girl/ younger guy. Is that why? What's the deal?

Full disclosure: a close friend's daughter was molested by a teacher for several years (G+G) within her school system. She was eventually sued, and prosecuted/ jailed. The story that came out was pretty incredible..and yet the school system did very little to fix their broken system.

What is going on here?

When the pay is so low it’s hard to find teachers that just want to teach. Apparently there is an invisible benefits package?

I wonder the rate for private schools where teacher salary would presumably be higher

Not so sure about that presumption. I think they're often lower salary, with lower (or the same) qualifications, and lesser benefits.

It's very obvious that our society views sexual abuse of a boy, committed by a woman, much less seriously than when genders are reversed.

I'm not sure that's it. It almost seems something with the lack of boundaries. Overall, it most certainly goes to the psyche of the corrupting teachers. I can't get into much more analysis...we've seen how those discussions work out.

Which is very interesting in a world trending towards full equality.

I fantasized about three of my teachers and would have jumped at the chance if given it with any of them. Age difference be damned. Legality be damned.

I have seen a lot of these cases coming out also. They come and go really quick I am thinking because it involves a female teacher and male students

Comments I usually see regarding female teacher and male student:

Where was this teacher when I was in school?
What an idiot, why did he blab about it?
If I were his dad I wouldn't have turned him in I would have high fived him

I just wonder how many are not being found out about. I would imagine more than half are being kept secret

Is the world really trending towards equality or just paying more attention to certain groups while creating other inequalities at the same time? It appears imo that there is just another inequality crisis to replace the previous inequality for which we've reached a saturation point from an attention perspective. In a decade or so we'll circle back to demand something be done.

That’s a surprise to me! Public school teachers get more than private counterparts. Unionized vs not?

Now I’m even more interested to find out if the rate varies between public and private

It’s too bad, really. Young boys minds are just as pliable and liable to be permanently altered from such an imbalanced relationship. Emotionally, intellectually, physically, etc.

I could see that, with excessive attention given to coming out or identifying and declaring gender preferences or even just expressing sexuality so early in adolescence. A private home matter that is being communalized and encouraged

Right, but you see how wrong it would be for the adult to violate a minor like that don’t you? Or as an adult, you feel the same?

Because we are led to believe women are sweet, innocent, and can only be victims. And to suggest otherwise is unacceptable.

When it comes to boys, the standard is the same, the concern is not. There is always the claims that things like sexual harrassment and such don't happen nearly as frequently as with women/girls and the number of reported instances is often used to support those claims. Well, when women don't report sexual harrasment and such an excuse is made why that isn't true but when it comes to boys the reverse is quickly dismissed bwcause there can't possibly be nearly as as much of a problem, after all, they're boys.

Suddenly there are reports all over about sexual harrassment in the environments like hollywood and government but it was relatively quiet for a long time. For some reason, the pressures girls or women experience not to come forth doesn't apply to boys. IMO, the peer pressures on boys not to report is far greater than peer pressure imposed by girls.

Just saying.

Because there Dad is saying
“Way to go boy” vs WTF. Or something like that. At least in those White trash southern states. :p

Honestly I hate seeing people say that shit. Always think it is bigotry and BS.

Bet not one of those boys were coerced.
All willing participants. Probably not true on the reverse.

It's clear to me that most teenage boys need a lot of sex education. We just need the instructors to be properly trained and licensed. This is something with potential for emotional maturity, not damage.

Is it really abuse when the boy was probably already experienced? What's the average age of losing virginity these days? 15?

Yea probably if the teacher is twice his age and he still has 50% of his life for his brain to mature... that’s definitely predatory

If they are both students, go for it, grab condoms from health class.
