Yep, monkey see monkey do doesn't work out well. Found that out the first time I jumped my mountain bike. Still felt like I could do Tomahawk dunks too after watching NBA highlights in slow mo.

These guys are in the same class as acrobats and other gifted physical performers. They’re so good they make it look easy. And I’ll bet they’ve spent countless hours starting on smaller bikes and smaller obstacles, then working their way up.

Yup, in my mind I can do all of this. But in practice, I can't do any of it, not even remotely close, but I love seeing it and living in my own little imaginary world where I can:laughing

What I could never comprehend about these riders is how they have so much control on the rear brake. I think my foot just isn't wired the same way as theirs.

When I was a teenager, I watched this kid learn how to ride my buddies 250 dirt bike. Within 2 hours this kid was riding whoolies and getting 10' air off random mounds of dirt.... Freaking natural. His mom and dad got wind of his riding and made him quit. Turns out their dreams of him being a football star, was more important. Kid never became anything more than a bench warmer. Moral of this story, you never know what you're capable of, until you try it.
