Native Americans had a form of slavery as well, as did the egyptians, romans, greeks, and many others. But not on the modern scale and brutality of whites on blacks, nor with such a lasting effect. The slave trade started in the 16th century, and we are still dealing with racial profiling today, in the United States, where hundreds of thousands were imported yearly for over a century.

You can only be offended by something if you choose to be. There are two types of ignorance in that situation. The kind that is ignorant enough to use the words, and the kind that ignorant enough to be offended by the ignorance of those using the words..

Ignorance can perpetuate itself or bury itself, depending completely on whoever is on the receiving end of the insult.
