New tires installed/balanced, Left hand rear brake installed but one of my crush washers is leaking 
Hopefully can find the correct size for this recluse stuff in the next couple of days as I'm leaving on Friday morning for the coast to do from Crescent City to Usal Beach over three days.

Did 111.3 miles of fire roads and jeep trails today, super good time. We went out to Bowman and Jackson Meadows Reservoir and played around a little bit in between. Heard about a unique waterfall in the area and was able to find it. There's a small pool at the bottom, about the size of a large hot tub. Not very deep, but enough to dunk and cool off.

Took apart the leaky petcock on my cr250 and put it back together in the hope that it would stop leaking and it worked! Put oil on the k&n filter and fired it up and it sounded happier. Going to pull my ancient dirty gear out of the crate and go through it tonight to get ready for Carnagie tomorrow morning. Drop the kid at school and I'm playing hookie!! I've got a spare spark plug and a couple jets with me so hope to get it sorted tomorrow. Super stoked, except for the fact that its gonna be hot out there.

Honestly its supposed to be really hot tomorrow so I dont know that it would be worth it anyway, but I'm going for it. Just dug out the crusty crate of dirtygear and its a sad state of affairs. Some rodent decided that my wife's helmet would make a great condo, but then realized that mine was even more roomy! Meh, they're too old now anyway, but the rest of the stuff seems usable. My old first gen evs knee brace prolly belongs in a museum at this point. I'll be the guy looking like he hasnt ridden in dirt in a long time with the gear to prove it!
My dainese mesh upper body suit thingy says 1995 on it! Dang I must be getting old! Cant find my gloves either, so probably going to mix in some street gear for tomorrow. Yeah time for more money to leak out!

Ok made it out to Carnagie. I guess it was a success except that I packed my tools and then left them in the garage! This means that there was no work on the jetting, but the bike ran fine anyway, but I'm sure there will be room for improvement. I'll be pulling the plug out in a bit to see in general how it was.
First impressions of this bike are favorable. It feels a little cramped so I want to raise the seat and bars some, and it needs new tires and a new rear brake rotor. Also this is not a lazy man's bike. It requires more rider input than my xr400 did, but I really liked it and can see how once I get used to it, it's going to be alot of fun. I think I want to try a thottle tamer on it before I go for a flywheel weight. I didn't have any trouble with it stalling and it definitely can tractor up stuff if the throttle is applied properly and I keep a finger on the clutch lever.
Anyway my dirt skills are seriously rusty, and I've forgotten more than I ever learned about dirt riding at this point, but it will all come back I'm sure.
It was roasting out there today, so looking forward to cooler weather next time. Luckily I remembered to bring my cooling vest which saved the day! If you dont have one of these things I highly recommend getting one (cooling vest I mean, but yes you need a cr250 too). Here are some pics.
Oh yeah before I left I asked the rangers to check my exhaust. They busted out their kit and looked up my bike. They ran the throttle to 4000 rpm and measured 89 db so its plenty quite! Now worries there.arty

Have changed up the RMX a bit since I got it. RM tail and side panels, Polisport front fender, recovered the seat with black gripper cover, new taillight/signals/plate mount, and a Trailtech Vapor dash. Just did a few seals and chain/sprocket set this past week.
Before and after, for now.
17s are next but I want to buy wheels and spokes and lace them to these hubs, but I'm not sure about what spoke length I need and I'm not finding RMX 17" spoke sets, just RM. I have a 98 RM and the hubs looks identical to the 95 RMX. They share a lot of dimensions, the rotor and sprocket are the same, but I'm not sure if the dimensions that would affect spoke length are the same, I need to pull them off and get some measurements. If anyone knows RM/RMX hubs please feel free to chime in.
