FLH03RIDER
Recedite, plebes!
So it appears that the BARF has a few resident Architects. Guess most are probably on the commercial side vs residential.
I'm looking for a more current version of the Uniform Building Code book if there is one. My version is from 1979. I'm interested in the areas of concrete foundations, piers / footings, roofs (beam, rafter, joist, spans, etc.) construction and glazing, with regard to earthquake standards/requirements now in place.
Or possibly some other up-to-date reference that might be available.
Project: Single story, standalone garage. Think along the Eichler - Mid Century Modern style, approx roof size: 24' x 23' with 1.5:12 or 2:12 pitch, metal roof, floor size 20' x 22'. Garage doors: bi or tri fold. Glass wall (set back 3') under roof peak something like a NanaWall or sliders.
Any info, input would be grateful.
Thanks,
Bruce
