Description: The True Naked Bike rated as “best street bike”.
The R model Speed Triple is a really fun bike. Comfortable, sporty, with loads of grunt down low, and linear power delivery all the way up . It’s not a sports bike with standard handlebars, rather it is designed specifically to be a naked bike. I use it for twisties, touring, and commuting.
Why Sell? I love the bike! Rode it again today - way fun! But I have one too many bikes, and my wife says one has to go...bummer! My loss is your win!

Specifications:
http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/27112/Buyers-Guide-Specifications/2012-Triumph-Speed-Triple-R.aspx
Mileage: ~15K (14,872 at time of writing)
Engine Displacement: 1050cc
Torque: 76ft-lbs
BHP: 133
Top Speed: 155mph
R Model:
Wheels: Fuchs Forged Aluminum Wheels with PVM finish - light and responsive! 4.4lbs unsprung weight less than standard.
Suspension: Öhlins 43mm NIX30 forks and TTX36 Shock.
Brakes: Front: Brembo 4 piston radial monobloc calipers on two 320mm floating discs. Back: single piston Nissan caliper on 255mm read disc.
Flash: some carbon fibre parts made by same company who produce CF for Audi R8 and Lamorghini Gallardo Superleggera.
Modifications: Good as it is, I made a few improvements.
Exhaust: Akropovic (drops weight, looks cool, sounds cool).
Battery: replaced battery with a Shorai battery to drop weight (They claim double the battery life and higher specs all around with more CCA, very little shutdown discharge, and very light weight. At 1.6 lbs it easily weighs 5lbs less than the stock battery for a permanent sprung weight loss.)
Levers: Pazzo shorty levers
Protection: R&G frame, fork, swing arm sliders, engine cover, spools
Electric Power: Powerlet: handlebar powerlet to power my electric vest and gloves – necessary if you are commuting in the winter!!! Also convenient for GPS, iPhone, air compressor, etc.
Luggage: Ventura luggage system: bike attachment and the pillion handle. One can get sport rack and touring rack. http://www.ventura-bike.com/fitments.aspx?manu=Triumph
Condition:
Very good condition.
The bike has had one lowside, fortunately into tall grass which buffeted the bike. Cosmetic damage only (see pictures below). Immediately afterwards, I was able to ride 200 more miles that day with no problem (including doing Skaggs…really it was no problem!). When I got home, I had to replace the left hand turn signal stalk which snapped. This incident happened ~5,000 miles ago.
All service done on time via the dealer, including the valve job at the last one.
I have never taken this bike to the track. It has seen only commuting, local twisties, and touring.
Price Rationale:
MSRP R model: $15,999. Note: MSRP of Standard Model: $12,799
⇨ R model worth $3200 (öhlins, brembos, fuchs forged alum wheels).
Mods: ~$2500+
