Trackbike testing...?

For all you racers and trackday junkies who have a dedicated race/track bike. Where or how do you guys test out repairs, upgrades or brake checks when not at the track? For those who change brakes, wheels, gearing and such, I'm curious if you test ride them on your local street, take them to a more secluded area or just wait until you're at the track dial everything in.
Thanks for your time and advice.

Not as fast as I look.
I would put this is track days or racer's corner for better results, I believe. I use to test my dirt bikes on streets and open spaces around my house. I MIGHT run down my street and test/seat brakes on my t-bike, but that is it, and I live on a dead-end in a semi-rural area. Otherwise, it's the track, which can be a pita when you want to test brakes and suspension, and suddenly need to unexpectedly go slower. But, it is still doable.

Zoinks!!!!
I've zipped around my block to bed new pads/rotors. If you can't or aren't comfortable with that, 2-3 laps around the track using increasing brake pressure will bed them.

For stuff like suspension settings, gearing changes, etc... that probably needs to happen at the track. For the suspension, pay the $40 and have a pro like Dave Moss dial it in at the trackday.

ive ridden around the block twice on my race bike, one was a shake-down and the other was burping the cooling system. its a really short block. other than that, everything else get tested at the track. if you are confident in your work, its a non-issue. a lot of stuff like suspension or gearing u cannot test on the street.

Thanks. It'll be just for bedding new brakes, changing oil/coolant, and minor maintenance. And no worries,...I always leave it up to the suspension gurus to fine tunemy suspension
