Ok, writing this from an iPhone so excuse the autocorrects:eek:P. I have a 1998 TL1000R track bike that I have had for about six months now and have my first big track day coming up on the 18th...since I purchased it I had to start it using ether, that now doesn't even help.

I turn the key and hear the fuel pump whirrr, then I press the start button and it turs over as it should, but it never fires. After a few tries it starts to smell a little like gas so I know it's getting fuel. I put new spark plugs in and took out the old ones which were dirty (I had replaced them when I got the bike and they only has about fifteen (15) miles on the bike). When I did this I also made sure the bike was making spark which it is.... I don't really know where to go from here. So it's getting fuel (too much?), and spark (too little?). Any suggestions? PLEASE HELP!!:)

It's a track bike, it's been flogged. Check the valve clearance right off, don't pass go. Along the way you'll find all sorts of little things that will sideline the bike if you don't do it now.

I bought my ex trace bike and it had plenty of little things that would have had me pushing it home had I not had the patience to wait to ride it and thoroughly go over it.
