When is it the best time to get new tires? Should I get it online? Any recommended tire shops? Don't need them now since riding season is over but definitely need to pick some up for next season.

We sell more tires than anyone in the Bay Area due to our prices, selection and we mount them FREE when you bring in your wheels. You might find some attractive prices online, but when you factor in our FREE mount & balance , Santa Clara Cycle’s prices are very tough to beat!

SCC beats the vast majority of online deals AND they install the tires they sell. It is a great service and great folks running SCC.

I also recommend getting them from a local shop. I used MotoWRX in Livermore when I lived in Pleasanton for a total of four sets of tires. They also offered free mounting if you bought the tires from them.
I use Cycle Gear now, since there are very few motorcycle shops around here. No free mounting, but prices are usually fairly low.

This guy is great to work with...he's local in your area and he's a small mom & pops operation that needs us to get him going. Great guy...call Oscar...he's got some Michelin's and others. the Michelins are definitely on my list for next year.

I think you are talking about Race Pace Motorsports. I just got tires from him few weeks ago. He is 1fastmexican on BARF. He's the dude to talk to if your lookin to get some Michelins for sure.
I've bought tires at Santa Clara Cycle Accessories.
If I can install them myself I get them from Revzilla.
