Tiger, Hire a Driver

Check out the vb code of the post. It's not super difficult but not often used.

You sound like people on BARF years ago when they started to ask how to post youtube videos. :p

duh, I did that... hence how I know it's a maps tag [ maps]ipsorum[ /maps]

Don't lump me in with the old people, I'm only 39

Rolls with it...
This is where it happened:

He hit the median here, crossed into the oncoming lanes, traveled about 100yd past the second utility pole in the distance (almost to the third), and ran off the road into the brush.

In news coverage I saw deputies measuring tire marks on the median, and from aerial video I saw where the car came to rest.

He was hauling ass.

The downhill aspect isn't really evident from google.

Mama says he's bona fide

Google Earth shows that the road drops 100ft in the quarter-mile leading to the collision point. Sheriff Villanueva is just kissing some ass. Never hurts for an elected official to have a zillionaire pal.

LACSD said they don't believe he was impaired... :dunno

Edit: And to clarify, bo's quote up there is actually referencing May 2017... :thumbup

Right.

I'm saying I doubt he was sober and I hope they took a blood sample. I think prescription meds were likely involved, like last time. I don't think alcohol was involved. It is much easier to detect alcohol than most drugs. Woods was injured and not able to stand. So medical aid is the priority and deputies couldn't do all the normal standardized field sobriety tests/drug abuse recognition evaluations. I'd be surprised if he was sober. I think statements of his sobriety were probably premature.

I am not a cat, I mean doctor...but wouldn't the anesthesiologist do a quick blood test prior to surgery? Seems like too large a variable to ignore when putting someone under for an operation.

Wasn't thinking the information would be released to the public, but more that it would be used by law enforcement. Appears to me like a form of celebrity justice that you wouldn't get a blood sample for law enforcement purposes. Major single vehicle crash on a nice sunny day and a dry road, impaired driving would seem to be a possible factor.

It would be up to law enforcement to obtain an evidential blood sample if they suspected impairment. I would hope they did this. We will know if the sheriff's office announces DUI charges.

To the bolded, are you referring to preferential treatment due to celebrity status? Could happen. But since this was a major crash, and news event, I doubt LE handling the investigation would want to look the other way.

But who knows. I once arrested a professional athlete for DUI.

Recedite, plebes!
He’s going to get off.

Defense attorney: Your Honor, my client suffered an unexpected medical emergency, caused by recent surgery to his back, in that, his legs suffered severe nerve pain causing muscle spasms and cramps in both legs. As such, his right leg and foot drastically extended forward pushing the accelerator to the floor. The same involuntary muscular throe happened in his left leg/foot causing “it” to remain planted on the floorboard. The vehicle rapidly accelerated and he was unable to lift off the accelerator nor lift his left leg to use the brake pedal. As a result the vehicle careened out of control.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. The Sheriff seemed to make a grand sweeping statement within a day saying "Tiger wasn't impaired and there would be no charges forthcoming."

Must be stressful arresting a celebrity with all the extra scrutiny on your actions.

is insensitive

For a general, yes, but with that urgency they may just do a local and start hacking.

He could go with undiagnosed narcolepsy, or diabetes (which his dad had, with hypertension), or MS, which his brother has... :dunno

In other celeb DUI news charges against Bruce Springsteen were dropped, his BAC was 0.02, well below the 0.08 threshold. He paid a fine for having a tequila shot in a state park (no alcohol permitted) with some fans while out riding his motorcycle.
