...fortunately, I'm only down one toe. I'm feeling pretty lucky, all things considered, but being immobilized is boring. details (including gross pictures) are here:

sounds like you got beat up pretty good. sorry about the toe.
but at least you never have to worry about bumping it at night. bed feet, door's, etc hurt like hell.
heal up and get back on the bike.
and then we can have a bash. on the head of the cage driver. :wow
i know i come off a bit harsh, but i have lived with a bad leg for over 32 years.

Great write up. poor little piggy went to market and never came back.

Good luck with the healing "Whiskers."

Yeoch, glad you're okay! heal up, you seem in good spirits. I'll stop by and see you if you're still in the hospital this weekend, let me know where you are; I'll bring you beer(s).

Your foot looks kinda 'cute' now that's it's all cleaned up, the missing big toe excentuates the length of the others.. :laughing

--Toe Eulogy--- stolen from your web site.. I liked this so much I had to repost it; it's pretty funny.

Good bye, left big toe. There will be no more kicking ass.

No more sifting through the sand, or tromping through the grass.

No more cramming into climb shoes; no more clipping into cleats.

No more symmetry with anything I put upon my feets.

But also no more stubbing, clipping, jamming, warts or blisters;

These are now domain of your remaining little sisters.

Your absence will be obvious in flipflops, floppy socks, and such,

But spooky phantom pain will fool my brain to think we're still in touch.

I'll recall our good times fondly, and the balance I now lack.
This little piggy has gone to market, and is never coming back.

Be like water My friend..
Thanks for sharing, not sure if you belong to S1000RRForum.com but hope you can share this information over there as well.

I'm sorry about your big toe and I can't say I know the impact of loosing a big toe, but I hope you recover 100% and your life goes on as planned. In the big scheme your lucky to be able to walk (not loose a leg or even worse).

I read your review (very well written by the way), but I didn't notice what type of gear/boots you were wearing. Do you mind sharing that tidbit of information and let us know what you were waring and if your gear did it's job or not. Thanks.

All the best,

Triple

Ouch! The dreaded left turning vehicle! I am glad that you made it through. Congratulations on your good spirit. Keeping a log of the event likely helped you with your healing process.

hmmm, did you delete the writeup? I get no access, even with google log in :(
doc is there, but I was admonished to cinch down perms by my lawyer; feel free to request access via google, just make sure I know you're a BARFer (and not a lawyer working for the other driver ;-)

Sorry to hear of this, I have been "Left turned on" before and have went over a first gen prius, was able slow down and swerve enough to just clip my ankle before going over it. I could not fathom losing a toe or any part of my body.

I hope you heal up and get back on the bike, that is if your significant other lets you get back on.
