Zero Emission OHV Park Petition here

Original thread here

There is another way to show San Jose that you want this park. Tell them about any other park issues or ideas. Want a BMX park? Tell them that too.

Please take the San Jose Parks Greenprint Update 2016 survey and tell them you want a Zero Emission Recreational Vehicle and Multi-use Park on the treatment plant lands, east of Alviso at the north end of Zanker Rd.

The link is: http://bit.ly/greenprintsurvey

Thanks in advance!

This only takes a few minutes, tell San Jose what you want for parks and if you have issues with existing parks. Oh yeah, tell them you want an electric dirt bike park next to the Bay.

Done, hard survey to fill with all those markers.

this. survey was tough to do and i wouldnt see any casual riders out there going to the trouble to complete it.

also San José is in Costa Rica. San Jose is in California. i know it doesnt matter much with the map next to it, but its still an important signification

Hey, i just rode my Alta Redshift Shiftless MXT for a little over two hours in hero dirt. About 25% charge left. Review to follow. Freaking cheater bike. So easy to ride in tight technical. Maybe tomorrow i can ride it till dead.

Thanks guys, I spoke about this at last night's SJ parks commission meeting. The commission seemed much more interested than the admin. There was a greenprint survey update but all they did was ask the commission for suggestions, too early for any results. I did mention the 10 or so survey responses and the 175 comments from the park petition I posted as comments.

Cool! I just saw it. National coverage and one more petition signature :laughing :x :wow

Pretty cool seeing it in a magazine.

Butch, good news, I found out about a community coffee event with the Councilmember in question Friday and showed up to it Saturday morning. I'll give you an update offline.

Dude, I guess you missed the original thread. I don't have time to type it all again but I'll paste some:

"I would suspect it's because this is very much a rich man's park proposal. E-bikes compared to most other bikes are two to three times the price. Most kids (even adult ones) wont be able to afford an E-bike for quite a long while. They are a tiny population, of what's already a small population."

If you are referring to me personally, I am far from rich. I'm a PCB layout engineer, un-degreed. I bought a house with half the funds coming from my father as a gift from an inheritance he received. With my wife out of work and in school the bills each month are still more than I earn. When my savings (actually some stock options) are gone we're eating beans until she gets a job again or I get a second job.

I don't own an e-bike. Both of my bikes cost $10,000+ each. With tax and everything I probably spent 25K. I like my KLX450R and KTM 690R supermoto. The Alta motors Redshift bike is $14K i think, I can't afford one now either.

The park will rent adult and kid bikes because nobody owns them. I think you could rent a bike for many many hours for 10K.

"Please note that the Zero FX is under $10K with it's dual battery pack".

If you own a bike it's $5 day use fee to use the park like the rest of them.

So.. I'm broke and want to ride a dirt bike and I don't own one. Now what? Go buy a new or used one or rent one here and there. Which can I better afford? Think about it.

Dude, you will be the rich and elite soon, eh?
This is about the future. This is about vision. All these things take time, and things change.

This is about building at test park at the SEWAGE Treatment Plant. This should not be too big a deal and a pretty bold step for urban parks.

This could be cool, if we have leadership.

That's an electric bike in your avatar Butch but that must not be your neighborhood. I don't see any mansions :dunno Kinda looks like a normal suburban neighborhood to me albeit with newer and bigger houses than my tiny 50's one.
