Triple Threat

Be like water My friend..
Only you can decide that one, each person will have a different perspective.

The feel of the wheel, will let you know the real-deal!

Oggito ergo sum
For me, it depends on the twisties. The DRZ is better on super tight stuff or bumpy/bad road surface. Examples where it wins would be Mt. Ham between Quimby & Del Puerto, Quimby, Stage. Also wins in the wet/mud/dirt. On looser roads, sweepers and such, not so much. 35, Mines, PCH, etc. lose some of their charm for all the same reasons riding the freeway on a sumo is no fun.

So I guess I'd say the sumo is more fun in more situations, but still adequate even in those cases where a sprotbile might be a "more fun" choice.

SM in the tight stuff defently, but on long sweepers the sportbike defently that's why I got boths :)

Twisties are only part of why Sumo's are so great, don't forget sidewalks, back yards, open fields, unfinished housing developments, school playgrounds(only after hours).

SM's for sure, you cant even stretch a sport bikes legs on the street.
yes you can, it just isn't a great idea... but it isn't on a 'tard either.

I enjoyed my KTM more around town, but for a longer ride my 929 is absolutely more comfortable. It's also a LOT more reliable, and better on gas.

Besides wot on straight shots and free ways there is no way in hell you can ride a sport bike the way it was designed around the hills. Heck even some people can't even do that on track! I think a SM is just the right tool for urban terrain.

santa cruz mtns is 85% supermoto or 250 and 15% full size sportbike. as long as your sm can hit 100 easily.

What is your definition of supermoto? are you talking a drz or a sxv? big difference.

drz needs super tight twisties. sxv just needs the road not to be totally straight.

what type of sportbike? a bigfat bmw? ninja 250? zx10r? cbr600rr?

will you ride the SM sportbike style or supermoto style?

sportbikes cant pull away from sm in these santa cruz mtns so normally the sm will be much more fun in twisties. On corners the sportbike has to drag knee to make a corner up there on a supermoto you can keep same pace and be sippin starbucks while boppin to twistin with the oldies.

you're saying that sportbikes aren't designed for turning at all?

my favorite local (to me) road is Highway 58. There are plenty of portions of it that are lots of fun at speeds that you probably shouldn't be going.

When did I say that?

My original statements is stating that sport bikes need room to stretch their legs. My second statement is stating that the only time you can really "use the power" of a sport bike is in a straight line on the road way. All the other twisty stuff isn't that great on a sport bike that is why I say go with a SM.

Comfort wise SM wins also. After awhile in the saddle of a sport bike it's no fun at all.

i have an LSL bar risers and upright bars on my gixxer 1000. its way more fun then crouching over. but...i see people on supermotos and 'tards and they just look fun.
totally different riding styles.
its sounding like i should get me one...i wish i could afford the hypermotart or aprillia's v-twin moto.
i'll probably go with the suzuki though.

The DRZ is solid.

I had a GSXR 1k (2003) and it was significantly funner to ride twisty mountain roads on the DRZ.

Sportbike wins hands down, especially passing motards in goat trails:) When them damn motoards take me on the muddy roads when riding the fiance's bike, then I am not happy.
