Sport Touring Ride from Saratoga to Capitola via Hwy 9, Jamison Crk Rd and Empire Grade Rd to 3rd Annual Bikes on the Bay Vintage Motorcycle Show. Then looping back via Hazel Dell Rd, Brown's Vly Rd, Eureka Cyn Rd, Highland Way, Old Santa Cruz Hwy, Black Rd.

Moderate pace with some spirited sections. :teeth Although I’ve ridden most of this route, please let me know if you think I’ve goofed…:blush...China Grade Rd? Also, it might be better to take Hwy 1 thru Santa Cruz and Capitola. Route subject to change.

Meet at Saratoga Starbucks 14410 Basin Way and Saratoga Ave @ 9:15, gassed and caffeined up. KSU @ 9:30am. I’ll be leaving from Walnut Creek @ 8am if you want to ride along 680 > 280.

Total mileage about 120 miles. All day ride with roughly 1.5-2hr stop in Capitola for show, gas, lunch. Back to Saratoga mid-late afternoon.
Dress in layers. Rain cancels, but passing light showers are a go. Bring money for gas, lunch, and snacks.

This is a ride for experienced, responsible riders on appropriate motos and safety gear in good condition, especially that most important equipment inside your helmet. Remember, Ride Your Own Ride. Many of these roads are challenging, twisty, mountainous, and remote. Share the Road. Use your Head before your Twist your Wrist. And, doh, Enjoy the Ride! :ride

:shhh P.S. If you’ve read this far, here’s the sweet dessert---there’s an option for PIE depending on timing and the group mood! :thumbup

Shoulda been dere!

The Loyal Three of us rode an awesome ride on the bike mostly following described route, with a little freeway thrown in and return via Skyline to Alice's. :ride Bikes on the Bay was roarin', literally with music over the pa and various bikes startin' up to show off their own music. The Yami DT-1 took me back to my own in 1970. The six cylinder racing Honda was amazing and got applause and cheers (and ringing in the ears). :wtf Lots of great bikes to look at both in the show and around on the parking lot. The Messerschmidt "car" once belonged to Wilt Chamberlin. I wonder if he took out the front seat and the canopy! Nice weather there near the fogline. :cool
