Please keep an eye out for a 92 ZX6R stolen out of Fremont this morning Friday 2/10/12..

Posting for my friend Greg. The bike was stolen off Automall Parkway/Fremont Blvd Apartment complex. In a gated community.

My friend just started riding last year , started on Ninja 250 saved years for it, then sold that to get the ZX6R a couple of months ago. Liability only. It will take him a couple of years to save up for another bike.

Fucking cocksucking thieves.....

License 16D8354

VIN# JKAZX4J172A051228

If thats the bike, it's a damn clean example. Sucks man, but with it being so clean, I can see why it was swiped. Hopefully he either gets it back before it's all mucked up, or the shit heads that took it get caught.

Seems that a lot of stolen bikes posted on barf are from from gated complexes. If they're gated then how do they get the bikes out??

A resident of gated community gives someone gate code. The code is never changed. Visiting friends in gated community I enter code they give me or just follow someone in, never questioned. I tried to tell my friend that a bike cover in a car port is not good enough.

Could be worse
Damn that sucks, thats right down the street from me. I keep my R6 on the front porch with a security camera monitoring it at all times.

One of my biggest fears is watching someone steal it on camera while im here at work.

Sux.

Any license plate# or VIN info?

These so called gated-secure shared parking situations in apt/condo complexes are anything but secure. The gate is there for show only.

Watching it online? How do you set something like that up?

SUCKS!! I've had mine stolen by Mowry and Blacow in 08.. Insurance covered everything but the fact that it was stolen got me to think off installing some kind of a kill switch (i just got both my toys in the past 4 mos so I will do both by this week). I live in an apt complex and I have 2 disc locks, a cable to the post and locked up bike cover on both of my bikes (cable attaches each bike to each other too).. pretty safe I think as my parking stall is the first one next to the building with lots of windows from my neighbors. LOL...

There are security cams that have internet-accessible feeds.

As for getting stuff nicked from a gated complex, anyone can follow you in. And, sometimes, the "security" in those places are in on the theft half the time.

That's fine, but you're assuming the thief is riding off on the bike. Don't most of them get chucked in the back of a van or pick-up ? If so, the kill-switch isn't of much use as a prevention measure .....

When my SV got stolen, the cop told me it was probably two dudes tipping the bike onto a ladder and carrying it onto a pickup. Kill switch wouldn't have made a bit of difference.

Update:::::::

Bike was recovered last month. The idiot perp was arrested on freeway by CHP trying to start the bike up.

Damages were: rashed fairings, punched out ignition lock, broken seat hinges (trying to pry seat without key) for some reason the oil level was overfilled, bike has issues when put in gear it would die. Starts up but dies as soon as put in gear.

By the time owner was contacted about pick up from impound lot. $350 worth of storage fee was in affect. Sucks that owner has to restore damages and pay storage fees. Ohh almost forgot tow fee to get bike home from impound lot cause it wouldnt run in gear.

My buddy is happy he got his bikle back casue it took him a while to save up for this one and will take another 2 years to save up for another one. We are doing the work ourselves and it will be back on the road before summer.

Yep he got a security chain, rotor lock and is sure the bike is secured as much as he can. I know there really isnt a way to protect a bike from theft but he can at least make them work for it.

I suppose congratulations are in order. Sucks how our legal system sticks the owner/victim with the tow/impound fees. When the perp is convicted your friend could file a small claims against him for these expenses.
