Stockton kart track is running a moto only day this Sunday. I'm planning on being there. Anyone else?

These have been piquing my interest for a while now. Can I just get a $400 pocket bike and come run around the track? Would this be suitable for someone with extremely limited skills on a bike and looking to practice?

Pocketbike riders do exist, but don't come out that often. They are a acceptable bike to track. If safety becomes a concern, they will have or share a session with other low displacement bikes, and or beginner / novice riders.

Best bang-for-your-buck bike is a XR100 or TTR125. Just replace the knobs with a set of BT45's road tires and have at it! Beauty is that you can ride it MX (foot out) or road racing (knee out) style :ride

Planning on going, never been to a Stockton track day (been there w/ Superbike Coach), taking a KTM500 sumo and a TTR125 sumo.

Any idea of what to expect? I assume they run groups... Does it get busy?

There may be groups if turnout is good, and/or young/novice riders show, but you should get plenty of track time either way. TTR125 should be lots of fun.

oops, didn't see your comments

it was quiet enough that there weren't groups. I doubt he'll do many with this small of a turnout.
