All i know is, a few of the laws that they are trying to get passed is that we (motorcyclists) would always need to wear a neon green safety vest at all times while riding. Also riding in groups of 3 or more would be a ticketable offense, as well as requiring smog on all motos after 1985. There is a pack leaving from 4000 foothill in oakland at 7am. Hope to see you there.

Where are you seeing these proposed laws? I haven't heard anything about them and they seem rather fictional. Will we have to wear bells on our boots as well so people can hear us coming?

The only thing "scheduled" right now is SB350 Lane Splitting. The others are national campaigns by either the NHTSA and or other federal government agencies. Campaigns and rumors tend to most likely become law at some point. The thing is... why wait for them to get to that point. We need to stop be reactive and become more proactive. Fighting to protect civil rights is not a when you need to or part-time thing, we need to treat it seriously like our own personal affairs... 24/7/365. The reflective gear and 3 or more laws have already be enacted in other countries, it is only a matter of time. UN programs and treaties are behind most of this.

Thanks Adam.. Appreciate it!

Right on for the update Noid.. i wasn't aware that the bill had lost momentum and lanesplitting is going to stay as is.

The main point of this rally is to impress on our representatives and lawmakers that we as motorcyclists are a large and involved group. By passing laws that restrict our freedoms, they have a large number of votes to lose.

Personally, I like my freedom to choose what I wear when I ride, who/how many I ride with, and working on my bike. Coming together peacefully at the state capitol will be a strong gesture to the strength of our numbers.

would be a push for me. but maybe.
i start work at three pm (light duty bs) but the problem is not so much the start time as the going home time, a bit cold at midnight...and the drunks.
would have to out of sac by NO latter than 1:pm to get to work on time.

good reason to be there.
will try to make it. this a park and walk or a hang out at one place deal? booths or just people?

I'm going on a ride after, if it rains or is damp/cold, a group of us supermoto's might just make it a hooligan day instead of a ride day. If anyone wants to tag along for a bit after the rally, let me know! I'll find ya.

just a note to ALL going to sac,

The CHP will be out in force.
the sac county and city police will be looking to make revenue.

so mind your P's and Q's . as well as the CVC laws.
